Getting Started with FigureOut
Welcome to FigureOut, India's premier operational operating system for Google Business Profile growth. Whether you are a single-location neighborhood business, a regional retail chain, or a digital marketing agency managing dozens of client locations, this guide will walk you through setting up your account, completing your first listing sync, and configuring your workspace profile to maximize local search impressions and customer responses.
1. Understanding the Google OAuth 2.0 Account Creation Flow
FigureOut does not use traditional username and password combinations for core authentication. To guarantee maximum credential safety and eliminate the risk of password leaks, we utilize Google's official OAuth 2.0 protocol. This architecture means you authorize FigureOut to communicate with your Google Business Profile API directly, and your Google account credentials (passwords) are never exposed to or stored by our system.
Step-by-Step Signup Actions:
Initiate Registration
Navigate to the secure signup gate at /signup and click the "Sign up with Google" action button.
Google Authentication Redirect
You will be securely redirected to Google's official authentication server. Confirm your Google identity and login if you are not already authenticated.
Review Requested Access Permissions
Google will present a list of scopes required by FigureOut (specifically openid, email, profile, and business.manage). Click "Allow" to grant API access.
Workspace Initialization
Google returns an authorization code to our server, which exchanges it for a secure token. We initialize an isolated tenant workspace mapped to your unique Google account ID.
Important API Policy compliance: FigureOut requests only the specific scopes necessary to sync review histories and post replies/updates. We have no access to your personal Gmail messages, Google Drive documents, or Google Search histories.
2. Workspace Configuration and Google Listing Discovery
Once your login is processed, FigureOut's backend automatically starts a listing discovery routine. It queries Google's Business Information API to fetch all verified listings connected to your profile.
If your Google account is associated with multiple listings or location groups, FigureOut displays a selector allowing you to select which specific locations you want to manage. You can connect any number of verified Google Business Profiles to your workspace by purchasing a subscription seat (₹1,800/month or discounted multi-month rates) for each active listing.
Defining Workspace Metadata:
After selecting your active locations, navigate to the Settings panel to configure listing-specific configurations:
- Business Display Nickname: An internal label for your team (helpful when managing multiple locations with similar names).
- Primary Keywords: Define 3–5 core keyword phrases (e.g., "tour operator in Bangalore", "hair salon Indiranagar") which our AI replies and post generators will prioritize to improve local SEO rank.
- Default Notification Email: The email address where daily notifications and negative rating alerts will be delivered.
3. The Initial Sync Process & API Limits
The first data synchronization process is resource-heavy and handles three tasks in parallel:
| Data Sync Group | API Method Details | Default Ingress Scope |
|---|---|---|
| Location Data | accounts.locations.get |
Address, categories, opening hours, phone numbers. |
| Reviews History | accounts.locations.reviews.list |
Pulls up to 100 historical reviews to populate charts. |
| Performance Metrics | locations.fetchMultiDailyMetrics |
Last 30 days of visibility, calls, and direction clicks. |
The initial sync typically takes between 60 to 180 seconds to complete, depending on the volume of historical reviews on your Google listing. Do not refresh or navigate away from the loading overlay while the initial sync indicator is spinning. Once complete, your dashboard will load with live analytical insights.
4. Dashboard Overview & Primary Navigation
- Main Console (Dashboard): Displays aggregate indicators: average star ratings, pending review counts, active post statuses, and visibility trends over the last 30 days.
- Locations Manager: Lists connected Google listings, their verification states, unique Google IDs, and sync actions.
- Reviews Inbox: The core workspace. Displays incoming customer comments, ratings, and active response buttons.
- Post Composer: A visual calendar interface where you can write, schedule, and publish updates to Google Maps.
- Analytics Reporting: Detailed drill-down tables containing calls, website redirects, directions clicks, and PDF export tools.
5. Troubleshooting & FAQs for Getting Started
Q: FigureOut says "No verified locations found". What does this mean?
This error indicates that the Google account you authorized does not contain any verified Google Business Profile listings. Ensure that you login using the exact Google ID that owns or manages your Google Maps listing.
Q: How often does FigureOut sync data automatically?
Our background cron worker checks for new reviews and updates performance data every 4 hours automatically. You can also trigger an immediate manual synchronization on the Locations page by clicking the "Sync Now" button.
