“Roastery Coffee House, located around the Hindustan Park / Southern Avenue stretch in Kolkata, is easily one of the most impressive café experiences I’ve had in the city. The space itself strikes a beautiful balance between calm sophistication and a slightly rustic, modern café aesthetic, making it a place you can comfortably spend hours in without feeling rushed. What truly sets it apart is its incredibly diverse beverage menu. From coffee in multiple forms to matcha, kombucha, cascara, and several other specialty drinks, the range is far more experimental and refined than what most cafés in Kolkata usually offer. It’s refreshing to see a place actively push beyond the usual beverage options, and I genuinely hope they continue expanding this aspect rather than toning it down. In particular, their matcha latte stands out as possibly the best in the city—well-balanced, not overly sweet, and not masked with unnecessary flavours like vanilla. The fact that customers can adjust sweetness through add-ons like sugar syrup makes it even more thoughtfully designed and customizable. The food menu, however, feels comparatively limited and could benefit from a noticeable upgrade in both variety and innovation. There is strong potential here, and with a more expanded food selection, the café could easily become even more well-rounded. The ambience is another major highlight. It feels especially ideal during the winter months, when the outdoor patio becomes usable and elevates the entire experience. Sitting outside with a warm drink adds a charm that the indoor seating alone can’t fully replicate. I also really appreciate the ordering system, where everything is handled through a QR code instead of physical menus. It feels efficient, modern, and clean, and adds to the café’s minimal, streamlined vibe. The staff, too, are polite and helpful without being intrusive, which enhances the overall comfort of the space. Overall, Roastery Coffee House is a standout café that excels in beverages, ambience, and experience. If they can expand and refine their food offerings to match the strength of their drinks, it would easily be one of the most complete café experiences in Kolkata.”
