“Roastery Coffee House seems to be riding more on location and social media hype than on the actual café experience. I wanted a simple double-shot espresso, a doppio, but that was not an option. In the absence of a plain espresso, I had to order the Roastery Ristretto, and even that was available only as a single shot. The ordering process is fully QR-based, with no physical menu, which seems to be the new “Digital India” café trend. The Cheesy Chicken Sausage Garlic Bread was genuinely good, so credit where it is due. But the overall atmosphere did not feel café-friendly at all. It was noisy, crowded, and closer to a restaurant than a calm coffee house. The outside seating area was cramped, with chairs that were hard to move around. The crowd and ambience made it difficult to actually sit, relax, and enjoy coffee. Maybe I am getting old, or maybe cafés are changing into social media-first spaces where coffee is just a side note. Either way, I have definitely sat in better, quieter cafés. One odd detail: after scanning the QR menu, there was a GPT-style menu assistant that felt more like forced FOMO than useful tech. I asked it for the best food options, it suggested two, I said they were bad choices, and it “respectfully disagreed.” If you are going to add AI to the menu experience, it needs better training and a better understanding of customer feedback. Good location, decent food, but too much hype, too much noise, and not enough café.”
“Went to Roastery Coffee House thinking I would become a sophisticated coffee person after ordering Cranberry Coffee… but my taste buds said “absolutely not.” 😭☕ The Peri Peri Chicken Pizza, however, deserves full respect — very delicious, disappeared from the plate faster than my salary. 🍕 The café is super beautiful, staff were very polite, and the vibe makes you feel rich for at least 2 hours. Prices are a little high, but then again it’s proper Kolkata café culture, so my wallet suffered silently. 💸😂”
