“A Lovely Spot with One Small Letdown Visited this place recently with one of my closest friends for a long-overdue catch-up, and overall it was a really lovely experience. The roastery has a great vibe, and the food did not disappoint — the starters were so generous and satisfying that we ended up too full to even get to mains, which says a lot. On the drinks front, the chocolate coffee was absolutely delicious. The cranberry coffee, however, tasted oddly medicinal to us — not sure if that’s just the nature of the drink, but it wasn’t quite our thing. The one thing that left a slight mark on the visit was the service from one particular server. It was pretty apparent from her expressions that she wasn’t thrilled to be at our table. We requested our emptied plates to be cleared since we were preparing to order more — we were seated at a small corner table (Table 43, I believe) that barely fit one dish and two coffees as it was — and she wiped it down only halfway before walking off. I completely understand that hospitality jobs can be exhausting, and everyone has tough days. But for a first visit to such a well-regarded place, you do hope for at least a warm, attentive experience. Everything else was great — we’ll likely be back — just hope the service is more consistent next time.”

“Came here on the last morning of a trip to Kolkata, specifically looking for a proper specialty coffee stop before flying home. Roastery Coffee House at Hindustan Park delivered exactly that. The space is tucked into a quiet residential neighbourhood, which gives it a very different feel from a high-street café. On a Sunday it was busy — families, brunchers, a good mix — but it did not feel chaotic. The kind of crowd that suggests the place has regulars rather than just tourists. I ordered the Pour-over — Baarbara Estate HSD from Chikmagalur, Karnataka. Honey Sun Dried process, SLN 795 varietal, grown at 1370–1525 MASL. I picked this one deliberately to explore the honey-processed character and the fruity notes the origin card promised. I had a brief conversation with the barista about the brew parameters — 1:15 ratio, 90–92°C extraction temperature. Both are solid choices for this kind of bean, preserving the fruit without over-extracting. The cup delivered. It was noticeably on the fruity side, clean extraction, and the sweetness that honey processing gives the bean came through clearly. For anyone who wants to understand what Indian single-origin coffee can actually taste like when handled properly, this is a good example. The dark chocolate cake was rich and well-made — a good pairing with a black pour-over, nothing overly sweet. The bean display jars at the counter are worth a look — they label each origin with processing method, varietal, altitude, roast level and flavour profile, which is exactly the kind of transparency a coffee-focused café should have. Total bill for the pour-over and cake was ₹676 including service charge. Reasonable for the quality and the experience. If you are in Kolkata and take coffee seriously, make the trip to Hindustan Park. It is worth it. Visited: 7th June 2026 · Solo · Dine-in · Sunday”
